Statutory minimum wage as of 1 January 2026

The statutory gross minimum hourly wage will increase from €14.40 to €14.71 per hour as of 1 January 2026. The gross reference monthly salary as of 1 January 2026 was €2,294.40 per month. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment resets the statutory minimum wage on 1 January and 1 July each year.

For employees aged 15 and over, the following amounts apply:

21 years and over (100%): 14.71

20 years (80.0%): €11.77

19 years (60.0%): €8.83

18 years (50.0%): €7.36

17 years (39.5%): €5.81

16 years (34.5%): €5.07

15 years (30.0%): €4.41

For employees who work under an employment contract that has been concluded in connection with a vocational guidance course (bbl), alternative scales, which are set out in the Minimum Youth Wage Decree, apply. The above amounts apply to BBL students between the ages of 15 to 17 and 21 years. But for BBL students between the ages of 18 and 20, the following legal minimum youth wages apply:

20 years (61.5%): €9.05

19 years (52.5%): €7.72

18 years (45.5%): €6.69
